Luxury Brand — Sub-Zero
Built-in refrigeration is Sub-Zero's language, and it's a language we speak fluently.
Built-in refrigeration is Sub-Zero’s language, and it’s a language we speak fluently. Our Sub-Zero specialty is refrigeration and wine preservation, and we’ve earned factory certification from the people who build them. We service every Sub-Zero built-in and integrated model from 1990 to current — Classic Series, Designer Series, and PRO.
What makes us different: Dual-compressor systems, vacuum sealed doors, microprocessor boards, and the notorious condenser fan failures. We carry OEM parts in our coastal van, not knockoffs.
Walk the kitchens between the Village and the Riviera and you’ll find every era of Sub-Zero. Original 500-series units from nineties remodels, still running on their second compressor. 600-series built-ins — the BI-36U and BI-42SD above all — from the 2000s wave of Huntington Palisades renovations. And in newer construction, Designer columns and PRO 48 units with panel-ready fronts scribed flush into millwork. Each generation fails its own way. The 500s develop mechanical thermostat drift and door hinge sag. The 600s are famous for evaporator coil leaks and condenser fan motors that die young. The columns are healthier mechanically but lean hard on their control boards, and a board swap done wrong turns a quiet fault into an expensive one.
We stock the parts these failures actually call for: fan motors, water valves, ice maker assemblies, gaskets for both vacuum and magnetic door designs, and the electronic control conversion kits that keep older 500-series units serviceable after their original thermostats are discontinued.
Sub-Zero specifies regular condenser cleaning everywhere. Near the water it stops being a suggestion. Salt-laden marine air corrodes condenser fins fast, and a choked condenser makes the compressors run long and hot — the single most preventable cause of early sealed-system failure we see. For homes in Castellammare, on the bluffs, or anywhere below Sunset, we recommend a cleaning every twelve months. It takes under an hour, and it is the cheapest insurance a twenty-year appliance can buy.
A Sub-Zero is not a commodity appliance. It’s a fifteen-to-twenty-five-year investment designed by engineers who care about details — and it deserves a technician who cares about the same details. We don’t rotate crews. The Sub-Zero technician who diagnoses your unit is the one who repairs it, with OEM parts sourced from authorized distributors.
If your Sub-Zero lives in a home being rebuilt after the January 2025 fire, we apply a standing 15% rebuild discount on every visit. We also know the specific headaches of rebuild installs, because we’re working through them with neighbors right now: factory-fresh columns that arrive with shipping damage nobody catches until the first warm week, units installed before cabinetry was final and racked out of level, and the gap where a builder’s warranty ends and the manufacturer’s hasn’t quite started. We handle commissioning checks on new installs so problems surface while they’re still someone else’s bill. On surviving homes, we clean smoke residue out of condensers and replace gaskets that hold odor.
Sub-Zero work is rarely a one-tool visit, so we plan routes seriously. Morning slots go to the Highlands before Palisades Drive slows; Castellammare’s tight switchback driveways get the smaller van; when PCH jams at Chautauqua we come down Temescal instead. If a repair needs a part we don’t carry, we say so at diagnosis, order it from an authorized distributor, and return with the same technician. No second diagnosis fee, no new face at the door.
